Toolkit for Healing-Centered Practice, Module 4: Wellness

Welcome to our Toolkit for Healing-Centered Practice, designed for professionals who work with children prenatal to age 6, their families and those who care for them. Module 4 will focus on the theme of professional wellness as it relates to working with young children and their families and caregivers.

Presenters: Arielle Handevidt, MA IMH-E® & Lauren Moberg, LMFT IMH-E®

2 CEHs | DEVELOP Approved: KCF IX: Trauma Informed Care | $5.99 | Level: Basic | Audience: Early Childhood Professionals/Educators | Ages Addressed: Prenatal - 6

Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize that one's own trauma can be 'triggered' in the presence of children and families.
  • Recognize that working with children and families is inherently arousing and that having experience trauma has an impact on one's work and can contribute to compassion fatigue and burnout.
  • Identify strategies that support professional wellness and address secondary trauma to support one's ability to care for children and families.
