Description of Presentation: The Mental Health Collaboration Hub is an innovative community response to the current mental health boarding crisis for Minnesota youth. Not only does the Hub facilitate safe placements for youth, but it has helped identify common risk factors that can lead to extended boarding times and seeks to inform our future mental health policies and funding. This presentation will help all attendees become more familiar with the mental health boarding crisis impacting youth in Minnesota as well as ways that the Hub is seeking to address this ongoing problem.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Become familiar with the mental health boarding crisis impacting youth in Minnesota.
  2. Learn how the Mental Health Collaboration Hub is helping to address this issue
  3. Identify factors resulting in longer boarding times
  4. Identify ways to help shorten or prevent boarding situations

 

Learning Level: Level 1/basic: Introductory material and background information is covered. Audience needs no prior knowledge of topic.

 

Audience: County child protection workers, case managers, and social workers
